Plate 213 Puffin is a from the John James Audubon's Birds of America collection. This artwork in this collection was printed between 1827 and 1838 and contains 435 life-size watercolors of North American birds. (Havell edition). All of these printings were reproduced from hand-engraved plates and is considered to be the archetype of wildlife illustration. Nearly 200 years later with green eco-friendly technology we are bringing the Audubon prints to life again for use in your home or office decor.

You may also frame it to go alongside the print for all viewers reference should you choose.
John Audubon (1785 – 1851), whose surname became synonymous with birds, produced an enormous body of work, including over 435 paintings of North American birds. Audubon was America’s dominant wildlife artist for half a century. Audubon’s fascination with birds began in childhood and lasted well into his adult years where he spent many many hours on the frontier, creating an enormous portfolio of life-size bird drawings. His work has remained the standard against which modern day bird artists are still measured.

Artwork is printed in the original full size drawings as well as smaller options to suit your needs. Our Audubon prints can be ordered in two ways:
1. HP high-quality paper (200 gsm) which is acid free with a smooth surface.
2. HP 18mil quality tight-weaved quality canvas with a matte finish which can be framed or used to create your own wrapped canvas artwork. This option gives the illusion of painted artwork.

All archival paper and canvas prints ordered from this listing come unframed and carefully rolled and shipped in a sturdy cardboard tube.
